Trip Overview
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. This trek passes through diverse landscapes, superb mountain vistas, terraced rice fields, quaint Gurung villages with unique culture and a wide variety of flora and fauna. The Annapurna base camp situated at 4320m in the north central region of Nepal comprises of several peaks including the 10th highest peak Annapurna I along with thirteen peaks above 8000m and sixteen other peaks above 700m. This is a most popular walk on earth, furthermore we visit two of the base camps, The Machhapuchre Base Camp and the Annapurna Base Camp in just one trip.

Day 01
Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at the airport our guide/representative will meet you and transfer to your designated hotel. As there are no activities planned for today, you may either enjoy the evening at leisure or take a self guided tour around the tourist market of Thamel.

Day 02
Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today in the first half of the day we will visit some of the major UNESCO World Heritage sites, this includes the Swayambhunath temple, the oldest Buddhist monument in the valley and Boudanath, the largest Stupa in Nepal. Next we will drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square, situated at the heart of the ancient city of Kathmandu, full of ancient history, culture and architecture. Later in the evening we will spend planning and preparing for the trek.

Day 03
Drive to Pokhara (208km/6 hrs)
The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara goes along river banks, local villages, farm lands and beautiful mountain scenario. Along the way we shall stop to observe the scenic spot and also to stretch our legs. On arrival check into the hotel and relax or you have the option to stroll around the Phewa lake and visit the local market.

Day 04
Drive to Nayaul-trek to Ulleri (1960m/5-6 hrs)
Drive for about an hour or more to Nayapul, the starting point of our trek. The trail passes through several villages like Lumle, Birethanti, farm lands and bamboo glades. The walk is gradual until a short ascent to Hille and from here it is a steep climb to Tikhedhunga. From here it is a steep climb to the village of Ulleri.

Day 05
Ulleri-Ghorepani (2,800m/6 hrs)
Today, we trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani. From Ulleri it is a gradual ascent through forest of rhododendron crossing several streams. As we climb higher, the views get more striking, Mt. Annapurna south, Nilgiri south and some other peaks come into view. After crossing the Nange thati river we arrive at Ghorepani.

Day 06
Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Tadapani (2590m/7 hrs)
Wake up early in the morning and hike to Poon Hill(3210m) for sunrise view over the high mountains. Poon hill also offers one of the best panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, Nilgiri south, Annapurna I and other peaks. After spending some time enjoying the beautiful view we then descend down to Ghorepani for breakfast. After break we continue our journey towards Tadapani.

Day 07
Tadapani-Chhomrong (2200m/6 hrs)
From Tadapani we follow the trail towards the east and descend down through the forests of oak and rhododendron, several villages with farmlands and reach the village of Kimrong. After crossing the Kimrong Khola over a suspension bridge it is a steep uphill hike to Chhomrong village which offers tremendous view of Annapurna south and the Machhapuchre.

Day 08
Chhomrong-Himalaya (2920m/6 hrs)
From Chomrong follow the trail to the left of the Chomrong Khola passing some small terraced fields to Tilche and then through bamboo forest and reach Sinwa(2360m). Continue through the oak and rhododendron forest and reach Khuldighar. From here onwards section of the valley are affected by avalanche debris falling from the flanks of Hiunchuli, then pass through Bamboo village (2310m), Dovan (2600m) and reach to Himalaya village.

Day 09
Himalaya-Machhapuchhre Base Camp(3700m)-Annapurna Base Camp(4130m/6hrs)
Today, we climb high above onto the lateral moraine and descend to the other side of the glacier and further continue through dense forest to Hinku cave (3170m) and cross the ravine and the major avalanche area to reach Deurali(3230m). Beyond this is another avalanche-prone area and then we will encounter two rock pillars that mark the ‘gateway to the sanctuary’ and reach the Machhapuchre Base Camp for lunch. Further two or more hours of slow and steady climb bring us to the Annapurna base Camp.
From the base camp we can get the mesmerizing views of the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other peaks.

Day 10
Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo (2310m/6 hrs)
Annapurna base camp is the ultimate destination of this trek. From the Annapurna base camp we retrace our steps downhill to Bamboo so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Furthermore, we will always have the rewarding extraordinary pleasant lively views and landscapes.

Day 11
Bamboo – Jhinu Danda (1780m/5 hrs)
After breakfast, we retrace our hike back to Kuldi and continue through the rhododendron forest and descend to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa the trail is a downhill walk until the Modi Khola and then it is about an hour’s climb to Chhomrong and finally to Jhinu Danda. At Jhinu Danda we get to wear off the exhaustion of the trek with a soothing dip in the natural hot springs.

Day 12
Jhinu Danda to Ghandruk(1940m)
After breakfast we descend down to the stream and climb up the stone pathway and ascend through bamboo groves with views of Jhinu Danda and Chhomrong village. The walk is slightly uphill with some downhill walk at some stretches through rhododendron forest until Ghandruk. We will have our lunch and explore the village, visit the Gurung Museum and the village monastery.

Day 13
Ghandruk-Pokhara
After breakfast we hike downhill across terraced rice fields and villages to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 14
Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Drive to Kathmandu (6hrs) rest of the afternoon is free to shop around.

Departure
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
