Chitwan National Park situated at the foothills of the Himalayas is home to more than 40 mammals, 500 spices of birds, 45 amphibians and reptiles with a wide variety of natural vegetations. The main highlights of this tour is the riverside stay, canoeing in the Rapti river watching the gharial bask on the river bank, bird watching, sunset view tour, visiting the Tharu village, indigenous tribe of the Terai . And most importantly a Jeep safari in an open roofed jeep to the deepest part of the Chitwan National Park, this is perhaps the best way to experience and enjoy the the close up view of wild life during the trip.

Trip Itinenary

  • Day 01

    Kathmandu-Chitwan

    Early morning our guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive down along the banks of the Trishuli River to Chitwan. Chitwan is the nearest National Park from Kathmandu. Chitwan is situated about 165kms from Kathmandu and it takes about 5-6hrs.
    The Chitwan National Park covers an area of 360 square miles and is home to a variety of rare wildlife species including the Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, Asiatic rhinoceros and Asiatic elephants. We arrive at Chitwan for lunch, after lunch we shall take a short rest and take a walk to the local Tharu village where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the lifestyle of the Tharu people. Next visit the National Park Visitor’s centre to gain more insight regarding the history and the wild life of the National Park. After visiting the visitor’s centre, we will enjoy the riverside sunset view where we get to observe various wild lives like the Rhinos and several bird species. In the evening you will be treated to a slide show regarding diverse flora and fauna of Chitwan, and a cultural show performance by the Tharu tribe, followed by dinner.

  • Day 02

    Chitwan full day Jungle activity.

    Today we will enjoy full day in Chitwan participating in various activities like canoe ride, Jeep safari, Jungle walk, cultural show etc. Begin the day with a canoe ride in the Rapti River, this proves excellent opportunity for bird watching and viewing two species of crocodiles (the marsh mugger and the gharial). Take a walk through the jungle while enjoying the elephant bathing view. After lunch take a Jeep Safari on an open roofed jeep which provides excellent opportunity to view different species of wild lives including, different species of deer, rhinos, wild boar, sloth bear and even the Royal Bengal tiger if you are lucky enough.
    Overnight in Chitwan.

  • Day 03

    Chitwan to Kathmandu.

    In the morning we have the option to go for bird watching at the river deck and after breakfast retrace our drive back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
